Changelog

What's new.

Every meaningful change we ship to screencli — new capabilities, improvements, and fixes. Newest first.

August 5–8, 2026

The Docs link works again — every guide now opens right on screencli.sh.

📚
Fixed

Docs live on screencli.sh

The Docs link used to lead to a page that never loaded. Now it opens the full documentation right on screencli.sh at /docs — getting started, configuring a repo, the CLI, troubleshooting, and every other guide — styled to match the rest of the site.

August 2–5, 2026

A first-class guide for running screencli inside your coding agent's loop.

🔁
New

Verify inside your coding agent's loop

New docs page for the flagship workflow: run `npx screencli verify` inside an AI coding agent — Claude Code, Cursor, Cline, or Windsurf — so it browser-checks its own change before it ever opens a PR. Walks the loop end to end: the Claude Code skill install, per-agent setup, a worked pass/fail example, login, and CI usage.

July 30 – August 2, 2026

A dedicated Configure a repo reference — every per-repo setting documented in one place.

📖
Improved

Configure a repo: a reference page for every setting

Per-repo configuration is now its own docs page instead of a buried getting-started subsection. It documents every field — Run on every PR, baseline tests, the preview-URL pattern, bypass token, and authentication — with the exact UI labels, the baseline JSON schema, and the {{branch}}/{{sha}}/{{short_sha}} placeholders you can use in it.

July 27–30, 2026

Start Recording responds the instant you click it — no more dead clicks while your plan loads.

🎬
Fixed

Start Recording responds instantly

Clicking Start Recording before your plan finished loading used to do nothing — no spinner, no paywall, no feedback at all. Now the click always registers: you drop straight into the recording flow, or get the upgrade prompt if you're on the free plan.

Improved

Homepage PR demo reads as a preview

The PR demo on the homepage now clearly signals it's a static preview, so it's obvious at a glance what you're looking at instead of a live, clickable widget.

  • Docs now cover the CLI verify command for the agent inner loop.
July 24–27, 2026

A new Troubleshooting guide — plus fixes that make getting started smoother.

🩺
New

Troubleshooting guide

New docs page for when a run didn't behave: why screencli didn't trigger on your PR, what an inconclusive verdict means, sign-in and wrong-URL cases, and the per-repo config options (bypass tokens, auth, preview-URL patterns). Find your symptom, jump to the fix.

📋
Fixed

Install command now copies reliably

The COPY button in the install section was failing silently on some browsers. It now reliably drops the install command onto your clipboard.

🧭
Fixed

Homepage section links scroll properly

Clicking an in-page nav link — GitHub App, CLI, Pricing — now smoothly scrolls to that section instead of doing nothing.

  • New on the blog: Cutting PR Cycle Time Without Lowering the Quality Bar.
  • Sharper homepage and About copy — clearer on what screencli does and who it's for.
July 13–24, 2026

screencli now has real product docs — every part of the app, written down and in one place.

📚
New

Full product documentation

New docs cover the whole app end to end: recording from the dashboard, the watch page and its verdicts, visibility and sharing, the Pro plan and credit meter, bring-your-own Anthropic key, and team invites. It's all behind the Docs link.

Also in this update
  • screencli now shows its own icon in your browser tab.
  • New guide on the blog: how to review AI-generated pull requests.
July 2026

The whole site now lives in one place — and private recordings finally play for your whole team.

🎬
New

Watch private recordings on screencli.sh

Owners and teammates can now open a private session recording right on screencli.sh — the video page resolves your session, so shared private runs play instead of failing to load.

📋
Improved

One-click copyable install command

Jump to the install section and the install command is right there to copy in a single click — no hunting for it.

Also in this update
  • The whole site — landing, blog, changelog, and the app — now runs on one server-rendered stack at screencli.sh, so pages load faster and links preview cleanly.
  • Added a Blog link to the site footer.
May – June 2026

screencli now tests every pull request in a real browser — and emails you the verdict.

🤖
New

AI browser tests on every PR

Install the GitHub App and each pull request gets an AI-driven browser test on its preview deploy — a pass/fail verdict and a recording, posted as a PR comment before you start reviewing.

🔑
New

Bring your own Anthropic API key

Run tests on your own Anthropic account instead of screencli credits. Your key, your usage, your bill.

👥
New

Team workspaces

Invite teammates by email and share verdicts, run history, and settings across the whole team.

📬
Improved

Email alerts when a run finishes

The PR author gets emailed the result the moment an expect run completes — no sitting on the PR waiting for the comment.

Also in this update
  • New credits model: 1 agent step = 1 credit, with 500 credits a month on Pro, refilled automatically.
  • Faster CLI agent — prompt caching and a tighter prompt trim latency on every run.
  • Pro plan introduced: cloud recording, the GitHub App, and the CLI agent.
  • Larger agent step budget (75, up from 50) so longer flows finish.
  • New screencli-test-pipeline skill for driving the test pipeline from Claude Code.
  • Hardened billing — cleaner subscription renewals, refunds, and plan downgrades.

Put it on your next PR.

Install the GitHub App in 60 seconds and get a verdict and a recording before your review starts.
